This atlas supports an ongoing global digital-nomad mobility study. It displays a deliberately lossy public derivative rather than the analytical research dataset.
| Layer | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Observed successor | The target is the next observed different-city stay. No maximum gap is imposed. It is not proof of a directly observed trip. |
| Gap ≤ 30 days | Transitions retained with a maximum 30-day gap. This is the source pipeline formal primary layer. |
| Gap ≤ 7 days | Transitions retained with a maximum 7-day gap. |
| Gap ≤ 1 day | Transitions retained with a maximum 1-day gap. |
| Gap ≤ 0 days | Transitions retained under the source layer labelled Gap ≤ 0 days. |
Strength classes 1–5 are ordinal within a selected layer and year. They must not be interpreted as users, trips, transitions, percentages, or values comparable across different years or layers.
The public data apply a minimum aggregation threshold, opaque release-specific node identifiers, rounded coordinates, a reduced route topology, and ordinalized edge strength. Exact user and transition counts, analytical weights, GHS identifiers, individual records, complete routes, source-run details, local paths, and private crosswalks are excluded.
A public static site cannot make browser-readable files non-downloadable. Protection therefore comes from publishing a deliberately reduced visualisation derivative.
