Role: Postdoctoral Researcher, 2025–present Institution: University of Groningen Funding: Horizon Europe MOBI-TWIN examines how digital and green transitions reshape spatial mobility, regional inequalities, sustainability, and resilience across European regions. Junyao develops spatial microsimulation and agent-based modelling approaches, contributes to scenario-based assessments, and studies how structural change alters regional opportunity, mobility patterns, and uneven development.

Role: Project Lead, 2019–2020 Organisation: UrbanXYZ Technology Ltd This project combined agent-based modelling, spatial analysis, and participatory design to transform an underused public space. It connected behavioural simulation with community input and contributed to the UN-Habitat Sustainable Community Pilot Program.
