This invited lecture examined the transformation of the former Philips industrial area at Strijp-S in Eindhoven. It focused on the role of urban festivals, cultural programming, and place making in the regeneration of industrial heritage and brownfield sites. The discussion connected the Dutch experience with the revitalisation of Shougang Industrial Park in Beijing.
